Job Title: Customer Support Engineer(Thin Films Measurement)

Job Description:
1.Primarily responsible for customer service activities associated with modifying, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing of highly complex capital equipment at customer sites and via telephone.
Evaluates equipment to determine type and extent of problem.
2.Repairs may involve subsystem failures which can be completed using standard procedures as well as system level problems which have multiple causes and for which no standard troubleshooting or repair procedures exist.
3.Works on extremely complex problems with significant and/or unique characteristics where analysis of situations and/or data is required to resolve the problem.
4.Represents the company to the customer and assumes accountability for customer satisfaction with service. Assures operational quality of system equipment.
5.Coordinates actions with customers to minimize down time and serves as company liaison with customer on technical and administrative issues.
6.Provides assistance to company Installation Engineers in resolving problems.
7.Instructs customers in the operation and maintenance of the system.
Education and/or experience desired:
1.Position typically requires a minimum of 4-5 years of related experience and/or a technical degree.
2.Optical assembly and integration experience is desired as well as system level integration experience using complex test equipment, lasers, alignment tooling/fixturing, interferometry, and various data and acquisition software packages (Fringe analysis software, Matlab, Excel/Microsoft Suite, etc.).
3.Good manual dexterity, experience with mechanical and pneumatics controls, and the ability to work with specifications in tens of thousands scale also desired.
4.Clean room environment experience a plus.
Basic Qualifications:
MS or PhD in Optical Engineering, physics or similar technical degree with at least 4 years of experience.
New College Grad with same credential.
