Position: Software Engineer
Location: Milpitas, CA
Duration : Full time

Job Description:
Looking for a self-motivated software engineer for analysis, design and implementation of calibrations for next generation optical wafer inspection technology in the WIN division. This includes requirements gathering, data analysis, prototyping, design, code implementation and testing, documentation, system integration, troubleshooting and debugging, and code and document peer reviews.  Develop and maintain production quality calibration and diagnostic software for Wafer Inspection tools using object oriented analysis, design and modeling, algorithm development, image processing techniques, and curve fitting in all product release phases.  Work within a large software organization and clearly communicate and collaborate to integrate features that span across multiple engineering disciplines including optical, hardware, and system engineers.  Support product rollout in engineering, manufacturing, and the field.  

The software is primarily written in Java, is highly multithreaded, and is distributed on multiple networked PCs running various operating systems. A small amount of Java Swing development will also be necessary.

The Wafer Inspection Division (WIN) of KLA-Tencor is the world leader in design and manufacturing of systems that are used for capturing yield-impacting defects through optical inspection of patterned wafers for semiconductor manufacturers to ramp and maintain yields for their products.

Responsibilities include:
Position requires a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics or related technical field plus year(s) of work experience depending on degree in a related occupation. Education and/or experience must include:
1) Object Oriented technologies.
2) Algorithm development and implementation.
3) Object Oriented programming language proficiency like Java, C++, C#. 

Education and/or experience desired:
1) calibrating optical systems.
2) Image processing techniques.
3) Hardware/software integration.
4) Java programming language.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 3 years of experience.
OR
Master's Level Degree with at least 2 years of experience.
OR
Doctorate (Academic)
