Library Assistant, Evenings and Sundays - Saint Joseph College, West Hartford, Connecticut. This position assists the Access Services Coordinator with the daily functions of circulation. The individual handles these functions during evenings and Sundays. RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to): Provides library service at the circulation desk on Sundays, plus Monday through Thursday afternoons and evenings. Some schedule flexibility during school breaks and dependable attendance is critical. Assists the Access Services Coordinator with reserves, over dues, shelving and stack maintenance. Processes material for the cataloger and assists in technical services as needed. Assists the college community with general library assistance, including library technology and equipment. Performs other duties as required. Occasionally will share with the other library assistant responsibility for library public services and securing the library at closing. QUALIFICATIONS: B.A. or B.S. Academic library experience desirable. Strong service ethic and the ability to work well with people is required. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Possess solid general computer skills, including ability to work in a Windows environment. Familiarity with specific applications used by the College a plus. Physical ability to perform essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. GRADE 7; salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
