Children’s Programming Assistant - Darien Library

Children’s Programming Assistant - Darien Library is seeking up to three individuals to join the Children’s Library staff as part-time Programming Assistants. The successful candidates will have: Experience working with and supervising children. Educational background and/or experience in Early Childhood Education a plus. An outgoing personality and desire to work with children and adults. Excellent verbal communication skills and customer service perspective. An understanding of basic library organization and a willingness to learn. Knowledge of children’s literature very important. Knowledge of popular children’s online games and developmentally appropriate video games a plus. Facility with common computer applications and online tools. Commitment to work at least two Friday evenings (until 8pm) per month. This position will begin as a Friday evening shift at a starting rate of $12/hour, with additional opportunities determined by job performance and experience.
