Intermediate Architect - NY, NY

Handel Architects is seeking unique and energetic designers with Revit experience to join our SoHo studio, and collaborate in the design of high-profile projects around the world. Requirements include either a Bachelors or Masters in Architecture from an accredited university, 5+ years of professional experience in all phases of project design, and proficiency in Revit, including a minimum of two built projects produced in Revit.

BIM Manager - QPK - Syracuse, NY

Position Type: Full Time

Directed By: Partners/Project Managers

Job Summary: An integral member of the model-based design process, the BIM Manager collaborates with architects, production specialists, partners, and the I.T. department to promote and facilitate a firm-wide workflow transition from a document-driven to building information modeling practice.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities include:
  • Refine, develop & implement standards, training, and support practices
  • Develop and maintain standards-based process documentation
  • Provide team and over-the-shoulder training/coaching as needed
  • Collaborate with consultants and clients to ensure efficient data sharing
  • Design, generate and document custom BIM content, procedures, utilities and installs/deployments
Qualifications, Skills & Abilities:
  • Minimum two years of experience and technical proficiency with Revit Architecture
  • Fundamental experience with AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Architecture
  • Knowledge of BIM/Management and Integrated Project Delivery concepts
  • Good understanding of architectural project workflows (SD, DD, and CD phases) and project management
  • Relevant technical/computing experience including concepts of programming, interoperability and data exchanges strongly desirable
  • Familiarity with design & visualization applications a plus (3DS Max, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Excellent written and verbal communications
  • Knowledge of Civil 3D and/or Revit Structure a plus
Education/Experience: Professional degree related to Architecture and/or Engineering or commensurate experience within the AEC industry

BIM Specialist - Gensler - New York

The BIM Specialist for the New York Office is a multifaceted job and focuses on the areas of Revit and AutoCAD technical support, training, 2D and 3D family creation, Revit implementation strategizing with project teams, and research and development.



Responsibilities
  • Responsible for BIM (Revit) and CAD (AutoCAD) support for the office.
  • Train staff on BIM applications, primarily Revit, for full day classes, Lunch and Learns, and one-on-one sessions.
  • Collaborate with local teams to ensure Revit success working with both internal and external teams.
  • Provide ongoing Revit support and participate in internal office, regional and firm-wide Revit discussion forums.
  • Strategize with project teams regarding project startup and set-up, model construction methods, best methods for working with outside parties, etc.
  • Assist in content, family and detail library development as well as template file management.
  • Working with the New York IT team to ensure technology needs are being met from all sides.
Qualifications
  • Expert knowledge of, and proven practical background in, Autodesk Revit Architecture and related BIM software.
  • Solid understanding of CAD applications and best practices, particularly AutoCAD.
  • Familiarity with design applications such as 3D Studio Max (and Mental Ray and/or VRay), SketchUp, Navisworks, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design or equivalent, with three to five years experience in design and/or construction practice preferred.
  • Articulate communicator, able to convey BIM concepts to all levels of design and delivery leadership.
  • Punctual, able to adhere to deadlines, and have a strong work ethic.

BIM Support Specialist - New York

Our Client (an award winning global design house) is looking for a BIM Support Specialist with a minimum of 5 years Revit experience. You will be responsible for daily administration and execution of BIM (AutoDesk Revit) within their headquarters in New York, additionally supporting their offices in Asia and London as needed. Overall responsibilities include implementing and reinforcing the firm’s BIM approach, and you will be involved with the entire setup and optimizing of Revit on projects, standards, developing the model strategy for the team, consultant interaction, and all software modifications and maintenance.

Training users in the application and BIM / Firmwide best practices will be important, as well as monitoring and maintaining project standards throughout New York as well as our other international offices. Skills developing and deploying custom design tools for the application will be important.

Essential experience:
  • Comfortable interacting with teams and staff members
  • Strong knowledge of Revit Architecture 2010-2011, including customization
  • Strong knowledge of AutoCAD 2010, including scripting and CUI
  • General IT and desktop support skills
  • Rendering technologies (MentalRay, vRay)
  • Exposure to Rhino with Grasshopper experience
  • Revit API/UI/AutoLISP
  • Familiarity with NavisWorks

In June this firm posted an offer of employment for a Digital Design Manager. They are now looking for additional talent. To refresh your memory, BBG-BBGM is an internationally renowned design firm with offices world-wide. They specialize in hospitality, mixed-use & office design. The people they are seeking will fit the following descriptions.

Project Managers
You need 7+ years of experience. You should be proficient with AutoCAD or Revit as well as general office and project management software. Experience with large-scale commercial, hospitality, high-rise residential or entertainment projects a plus. Naturally you'll need excellent written and verbal skills and you must have a professional degree.

Technical Architects
You need 4-6 years experience. You must have a professional degree and be proficient with Autodesk production software and Revit experience is highly desirable. Extensive knowledge of curtain wall systems and field experience is a plus.
