James Madison University invites applications for a non-tenure track faculty position beginning the 2014-2015 academic year in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the rank of Assistant Professor. We seek candidates with an earned Ph.D. in astronomy or physics. The appointment is initially for one year with a possibility for renewal. | |
The department has 21 full-time faculty members and approximately 120 students in our multi-track baccalaureate-only program. The successful candidate will teach introductory physics or physical science for non-science majors. Additional duties may include conducting general physics or introductory electronics laboratories. Demonstrated interest and ability in teaching courses relevant to the position are required. Opportunity will be provided to pursue scholarly activities. | |
