FaST products like Aleris and SpectraShape are used by customers to control the thickness, composition of films as well as the critical dimension of 2D and 3D structures after etch and litho steps. FaST Engineering teams include systems, optics, algorithm, electrical, and mechanical disciplines and the teams work closely to develop next generation platforms and systems.

Job Description:
The hiring business unit is Film and Scatterometry Technology (FaST) Division which has a primary focus to develop products for film and CD metrology. FaST products like Aleris and SpectraShape are used by customers to control the thickness, composition of films as well as the critical dimension of 2D and 3D structures after etch and litho steps. FaST Engineering teams include systems, optics, algorithm, electrical, and mechanical disciplines and the teams work closely to develop next generation platforms and systems.
Responsibilities:
We are looking for a senior systems engineer to support the development of the next generation film and CD measurement technology and hardware. Following the KLA-Tencor Product Lifecycle methods, the candidate will be required to participate in all phases of the design, design reviews and requirements definition for systems. System requirements documents, feature requirements for software, analyzing system performance and modeling expected performance are key responsibilities for this position. The primary tasks for this position include the development / improvement of pattern recognition system, alignment system, stage map, analyzing the trace logs to improve MTBI/MTBF, and MAM/TPUT. Other responsibilities for this position include interfacing with multi-disciplinary teams in the US and overseas.
This position may require less than 25% oversea/domestic travel to the customer sites.
Preferred Qualifications:Candidate should have doctoral degree in physics/applied sciences/ materials sciences with at least 5-10 years of experience. Experience in the semiconductor industry and in other film/CD measurements would be a plus. Candidates should have excellent written and oral communication skills. Candidates should be familiar with analytical tools such as Matlab, Mathematica. Prior experience in polarization measuring instruments, reflectometers, ellipsometers, interferometers etc would be considered a definite plus.
