Job Description:
Human Resources partners with management to attract, develop, engage and retain highly qualified people globally to meet the business needs.
Reporting to the Director of Global Compensation, the Senior Compensation Program Manager will proactively collaborate with the HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and Management to provide knowledgeable and experienced consultative, analytical and project management services in support of KLA-Tencor’s Total Rewards philosophy. The successful candidate will drive and execute compensation programs and activities while ensuring internal equity, external competitiveness, and compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and organizational policies.
Responsibilities:
• Ensures our total compensation programs and practices remain competitive and are strategically aligned to the business
• Works globally with Compensation and Benefits to monitor, benchmark, develop and execute the company’s compensation programs against relevant industry, market data and key competitive firms
• Evaluates programs and information on legislation, trends, advances and/or new technologies through research and detailed analyses; makes recommendations for changes and improvements as necessary
• Operates as primary advisor and technical expert on compensation-related matters, including compensation philosophy, policies, programs and approaches, identifying client needs, managing the relationship, brokering development of and delivering solutions to the business
• Partners with the global HRBPs to market and communicate compensation philosophy, programs, policies, and guidelines. May create training materials and/or train the HRBPs in support of existing and new programs.
• Researches best practices and trends, and determines effectiveness and competitiveness of existing compensation programs; if warranted, presents alternative cost-effective solutions that are consistent with the company’s strategic objectives
• Provides recommendations and solutions to effectively address business issues
• Supports the Director of Global Compensation and Senior Director of Total Rewards and HR Operations in the administration of executive compensation programs to include total compensation benchmarking and Compensation Committee preparation
• Undertakes and performs special projects and assignments as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
• Exceptional analytical thinking skills, with demonstrated experience influencing management; proven track record of building consensus and business partnerships
• Demonstrated ability to present, influence, negotiate and effectively coach HRBPs and management on global C&B programs
• Lead and build consensus with stakeholders
• Demonstrated project/program management skills
• Excellent organization, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to deal effectively with ambiguity, recognize trends and identify systemic approaches to solving problems
• Must be detail oriented, with ability to set priorities and multi-task
• Maintain current knowledge of HR trends and best practices
• Sound knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint; expert knowledge of Excel
• Prior experience with HRIS systems and report creation; PeopleSoft and/or MarketPay a plus
Basic Qualification:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred; advanced degree a plus
Minimum 8 years’ progressive experience in compensation
Certified Compensation Professional and/or Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) designation highly desirable
Experience working for multi-national businesses
