School of Management Librarian - Yale University Library Center for Science & Social Science Information (CSSSI), New Haven. Rank: Librarian [Librarian 1-4]. Position Focus: The School of Management (SOM) Librarian serves as liaison to the more than 100 faculty members, approximately 500 graduate students, and administrators at the Yale School of Management, and provides business reference services for the entire Yale community. Reporting to the Director of the Center for Science and Social Science Information, the SOM Librarian is a member of the Center for Science and Social Science Information (CSSSI) team and participates in Yale University Library programs and committees. Responsibilities include: providing research support for management and business to students and faculty via consultations, other reference service points, and instruction; outreach to the School of Management community; selecting management and business-related material in all formats; Identifying, recommending, and negotiating agreements for business and finance databases and data; managing a collection budget of over $500,000; web site development and maintenance; and providing general reference service at CSSSI and other campus locations. Required Education, Skills and Experience: 1. Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited library school. In selected instances, a post-graduate degree in a related discipline may be required or substituted for a master’s degree in library science. 2. Experience working collegially and cooperatively within and across organizations. 3. Experience working collaboratively and independently with varied groups within a complex organization and rapidly changing, team environment. 4. Demonstrated experience with electronic information resources. 5. Strong public service orientation required.
