Refusing to ignore people in crisis
The British Red Cross helps people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are. We are part of a global voluntary network, responding to conflicts, natural disasters and individual emergencies. We enable vulnerable people in the UK and abroad to prepare for and withstand emergencies in their own communities. And when the crisis is over, we help them to recover and move on with their lives. Within the UK, the British Red Cross operates through about 3000 staff and over 30,000 volunteers. Geographically, the UK is organised into 20 areas, which are grouped into 3 Regions. The British Red Cross is one of the premier actors in the Red Cross Movement and is seeking to further grow our capacity and ability to support other components of the Movement.

The overall purpose of this role is to support the Security Advisor through the provision of travel security management for staff and delegates travelling in the UK and overseas. This is achieved by conducting research and analysis with the aim of maintaining high standards in security and safety awareness, management and practice, in order to minimise risks to staff and thereby contribute to more effective programmes.
