The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Texas A&M University-Commerce invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor with an emphasis in STEM outreach and education. This will be a nine-month tenure-track position beginning Fall 2013 or Spring 2014.
The new faculty member will be expected to carry out a vigorous, externally-funded research program with a primary emphasis on science education for undergraduate and graduate projects, advising students and participating fully in the teaching program of the department. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in STEM education research and other areas that complement existing department strengths. In addition, preference will be given to those with post-doctoral experience, the ability to attract external funding, and evidence of university level teaching experience (ideally including online teaching or distance education). The successful candidate will be able to collaborate effectively with community college and PK-12 faculty.
