Legislative Assistant -- House Member Personal Office

Legislative Assistant - Conservative Republican Member seeks a Legislative Assistant with a focus on Banking & Financial Services, Defense, and sound background on Budget issues & process. Candidate must be proficient with industry and sector specific regulations, along with familiarity with institutional issues and recent developments. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing Member for briefings and floor activities, including committee work, developing legislative initiatives, editing constituent correspondence, and representing the Member in meetings. The successful candidate must have 2 years prior Capitol Hill experience as a Legislative Assistant, meticulous knowledge of the legislative process, and adept with Internet Quorum. Position includes a broad portfolio including and not limited to telecom, foreign affairs, homeland security as well as Welfare/UI/TANF. This is not an entry level position.
