Program Development Specialist, Cromwell July 2012

Jobs Description

Primary responsibility is to develop quality programs and expand existing programs for students on the Autism spectrum with a focus on building a comprehensive day school component inclusive of evidence-based best practices in educating students on the Autism spectrum. The position requires close collaboration with certified special education teachers, related services staff, BCBAs, school administration, support personnel, and outside consultants. The individual in this position will be expected to provide training to staff and/or identify and schedule outside agencies for training. The Program Development Specialist must have knowledge of and be responsible for duties within the following areas: Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PABIS), ABA, Sensory integration, Post-secondary outcomes, Vocational programming, Extended day and extended year programming, CMT/CAPT standard, MAS and checklist administration for ASD students, Monitoring and supporting IEP development and implementation, Connecting to area community and state agencies to promote program, Instructional and assistive technology, Development of individual and program specific behavior plans, Collaborate daily with Residential and Clinical Administrations on School/Student related issues.

Requirements
Master's degree, CT certification in special education or related services, and extensive experience with students with Autism with documented success in the above listed areas. Exempt, 12 months, fully-paid benefits
