Job Description:
KLA-Tencor's FaST (Film and Scatterometry Technology) division is a one of the core groups of KLA-Tencor's metrology business. The FaST division conceives, develops manufactures and markets film and optical CD metrology equipment for the front end semiconductor manufacturing process counting all major semiconductor manufacturers amongst its key customers.
The FaST Division is a $200M division and has over 170 employees worldwide. The division is primarily located in Milpitas, CA where the main engineering group is located but has some satellite engineering groups in India and Israel.
Responsibilities:
1) Responsible for all NPI (new product introduction) activities for all FaST Products. Also responsible for hardware sustaining activities for legacy products.
2) Provides management direction of all phases of a product from manufacturing introduction to completion. Functions as the central resource with design, manufacturing, quality and test as the product(s) move to completion and distribution. Ensures that products shipped meet specifications and quality goals. Formulates and executes long term plans for cost/profit control. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
3) Participates with other senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives. Makes final decisions on administrative or operational matters and ensures operations’ effective achievement of objectives.
4) Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the product and company. Participates in corporate development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people. Ensures budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements.
5) Regularly interacts with executives and/or major customers. Interactions frequently involve special skills, such as negotiating with customers or management or attempting to influence senior level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization.
6) Directs and controls the activities of a broad functional area within the division. Has control of planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities, and recommending and implementing changes to methods and products.
Preferred Qualifications:
1) Minimum 5 years of NPI experience.
2) Strong technical background, preferably has an PhD or Masters Degree in the engineering field with good background in manufacturing.
3) Have extensive experience and technical knowledge to influence/implement engineering designs into manufacturable, cost-effective and highly reliable products.
4) Have experience transitioning/transferring products from development engineering to an offshore manufacturing group.
6) Knowledge of optical metrology and/or opto-mechanical systems preferred.
7) Willing to travel to vendors and KLA-Tencor's manufacturing facilities in Middle East, Europe and Asia.
Minimum Qualifications:
Doctorate (Academic) with at least 5 years of experience.
OR
Master's Level Degree with at least 6 years of experience.
OR
Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 7 years of experience.
