Library Assistant - John P. Webster Library

Library Assistant - The John P. Webster Library of the First Church of Christ Congregational, UCC, West Hartford, is looking for part-time library assistant. The JPW Library has a religious and secular collection of over 7,000 resources and is open to the public. This position reports to the Library Director and is responsible for a wide variety of library technical support, including circulation using an automated system, cataloging, Interlibrary Loan (holdings on ReQuest), providing story-time to preschoolers and assisting with other library programs and services including the church archives. The successful candidate must be enthusiastic, have excellent customer service skills to serve the church community as well as the public, have the ability to handle diverse responsibilities and have relevant library experience. This is a non-exempt, 52 week, approximately 24 hours per week position. The work schedule is: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Monday-Thursday and one Sunday morning (9:00 a.m. – noon) per month. Additional evening and weekend hours may be required for special programs.
