United Way's E3 Career Training Center-the Center for Energy-Efficiency Education-is a 5,000 sq. ft. training center in Deer Park. It is set to open this summer. This high-tech facility is Long Island's first training center to prepare students for lifelong careers in a high-growth, high-demand green construction industry.
The Center is being outfitted with training stations where students practice and learn green building techniques, energy efficiency, weatherization, renewables, advanced framing, air sealing and advanced insulation techniques, as well as high-efficiency heating, cooling and ventilation systems. Students will also learn voice/data cabling and structured wiring, CAD (computer animated design), advanced home automation, and energy auditing.

If you are between the ages of 18-24 & ready for change join The United Way YouthBuild. Students will receive basic skills to obtain their GED Diploma; learn to construct homes using state-of-the-art green building techniques; and can explore other career opportunities as a Certified Nursing Assistant or teachers/child care assistant.
